About me
Lara Purvis is an educator, storyteller and qualified teacher with a BA in Child Studies and a BEd in Primary Junior education, and an MA in Global Development. Lara completed her Forest and Nature School Practitioners certificate, and worked for the Child and Nature Alliance as an educator and writer. Lara is the Founder of Out to Play.
Out to Play is located in the city of Ottawa, Ontario. Out to Play offers an Independent School with season-long programs, Family programs, the Summer Daycamp, 1:1 programs for children with complex needs and Therapeutic Services.
Lara believes in the magic of Story and the power of play. Lara identifies as nonbinary, uses she/they pronouns and is committed to supporting the mental health of children, families and communities through connection to the land.
