About me
Devin Mutić is a philosopher and nature-based educator. As the Director of Headwaters Wilderness Program, he is an organizational leader focused on creating forward-looking outdoor education programming that connects students with the cultural and ecological past, present, and future of a place. A strong believer in bridging the gap between theory and practice, Devin situates himself at the place where rivers meet, working at the intersection of nature philosophy, educational theory, and on-the-ground teaching. His academic research examines ways in which education can be designed to build communities of care for the living world, while his work as an educator finds him lifting this theory from the page, developing curriculum and creating programs with those same values in mind. A Board member with COEO and an effervescent canoe tripper, Devin finds great purpose in strengthening communities of outdoor educators and great joy in the canoe trip as the perfect educational medium.
