About me
Billie Jo Reid is the founder of Pine & Ponder Outdoors, where she helps students, teachers, and communities connect with nature through Nature Journaling and environmental education. A passionate outdoor educator, she blends art, science, and mindfulness to inspire curiosity and connection to place. Billie Jo also serves as the National Program and Delivery Coordinator for Project WET Canada, and is a certified Project WILD, Below Zero, and ORCKA instructor. She has co-led two Nature Journaling Safaris to Tanzania with naturalist John Muir Laws and will join him again in 2026 for trips to the Galápagos Islands and Alaska. Recognized as the Canadian Wildlife Federation’s 2025 WILD Educator of the Year, Billie Jo’s work has been featured in In The Hills magazine and on the Journaling with Nature podcast.
