About me
Dr. Lindy Phelps Henderson is a proud citizen of the Manitoba Metis Federation and the Red
River Homeland. Lindy is a Principal of a Land-Based school in Treaty 3 Territory, and has
worked in both public education settings as well as within local First Nations. Lindy’s work in
leading through land-based learning explores traditional teachings and ways of knowing and
being, and ways of integrating these practices across a variety of educational K-12 settings. In
addition, Lindy works with the University of Winnipeg in the Faculty of Education and Indigenous
Studies. Lindy currently lives on beautiful Lake of the Woods with her family and enjoys all
aspects of learning from, on, and with the land.
