About me
Rachel is a certified Ontario Master Naturalist with a B.Sc. in Environmental Science from the University of Guelph and a postgraduate degree in Environmental Visual Communication from Fleming College and The Royal Ontario Museum. As the Environmental Sustainability Manager for the Halton District School Board, she leads the Board’s sustainability efforts, working across departments and schools to implement and support environmental initiatives. During her tenure, Rachel founded the innovative Nature’s NEAR (Neighbourhood Eco Action Rangers) program, which fosters environmental leadership and mental health and well-being by connecting secondary co-op students with thousands of elementary students through collaborative outdoor education across the Halton region.
