About me
Grant Linney's career in outdoor and environmental education spans six decades, having worked for conservation authorities, school boards, the Ontario government and an independent school. He is the recipient of several local, provincial and national awards. In 2012, he received the EECOM Award of Outstanding Teacher. In 2025, he became a recipient of the King Charles III Coronation Medal for his advocacy on behalf of outdoor experiential education and fighting climate change. To date, he has delivered more than 1100 presentations on climate change. In 2024, he published his first book entitled Outdoor Magic: The Power of Nature Connection. His short stories reflect his own experiences in the outdoors as well as a wide variety of experiences as an outdoor educator. His thesis is simple: if you wish to develop the spark and the drive to fight climate change, you must spend time outdoors — regularly and repeatedly.
