About me
Cori has been teaching in the boreal forest for over 15 years, sharing her passion for connecting youth and learners of all ages with nature. As the Executive Director of the Lesser Slave Forest Education Society—a small non-profit, charitable organization—she balances leading the organization behind the scenes with delivering engaging, hands-on education programs in the forest. The Society’s school programs are curriculum-based and immerse students in experiential learning that deepens their understanding of forest ecosystems. Many of these programs are place-based, encouraging students to explore and interpret the dynamic changes of the boreal forest throughout the seasons.
Cori recently completed a M.Ed from the University of Calgary where she researched the factors in community and citizen science that influence environmental stewardship attitudes and behaviours in youth.
