Welcome to the 2026 Outdoor Learning Conference
Thursday May 7, 2026 3:15pm - 4:30pm MDT
Without realizing it, you are currently moving at very high speed through space. Which way are you moving? How does it all work? In this workshop, we'll look up at the sky but also down at our feet to understand the Earth's motions and realize how we are truly on a small spaceship in the vastness of the Universe. In doing so, we will discuss how unique and fragile our planet is, and how we are all in this spaceship together. While outside, we will also use the sky and the large space to talk about our Moon and the Solar System. Whether you want to do a 5-minute activity on the topic with your students, or a full lesson on outdoor astronomy education, we'll have ideas for you!
