Welcome to the 2026 Outdoor Learning Conference
Friday May 8, 2026 3:30pm - 4:45pm MDT
Do you want to turn a student’s love for nature into a meaningful career? Join Water First as we shine a light on the lesser known - yet incredibly impactful - environmental science careers, and the amazing people who do the work everyday. We will explore how we immerse Gr. 4-12 students into environmental science careers by providing dedicated roles and responsibilities during our hands-on water science workshops; empowering students to learn new skills, take leadership, and imagine themselves in the role. We will discuss how involving community experts working in these career roles can deepen connections and help drive students from passion to action. Through participating in our X-Stream Indicators workshop, you will build your skills in outdoor experiential teaching, explore careers such as Land Guardian or Environmental Technician, and practice strategies to spark an interest among students in these career pathways.
